CPD in Montenegro, Croatia and Adriatic

This Conference@Sea embarks on an unforgettable journey through the stunning Adriatic, from the picturesque shores of Montenegro and Croatia to the sun-drenched islands along the Adriatic Coast, sailing from July 3 to July 12, 2026, aboard the luxurious Silversea ship Silver Muse. This voyage traverses a region where history, medicine, and law have long intersected, following ancient maritime routes that connected great civilizations. From the medieval walled city of Dubrovnik, where the foundations of modern quarantine laws were first established, to Kotor, a UNESCO-listed gem with Venetian fortifications, each destination tells a story of resilience, intellect, and innovation.
The legal traditions of the region—rooted in Roman and Byzantine law—continue to shape modern legal systems, while its medical advancements can be traced back to early Renaissance scholars who studied in the Adriatic’s renowned universities. Dubrovnik’s historic pharmacy, one of the oldest in Europe, stands as a testament to the region’s long-standing contributions to healthcare and medicine.
Beyond its rich academic and historical significance, this voyage is a sensory delight—crystal-clear waters, charming coastal towns, and exquisite local cuisine. The Adriatic’s breathtaking landscapes provide a backdrop for an experience that blends intellectual exploration with cultural indulgence, offering medical, legal, and dental professionals a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the region’s profound influence on their fields.

It is a condition of registration for this conference that all delegates must book and pay for the cruise component through CPE Travel. The reason for this is that we need to command the common areas of the ship in order to conduct our conferences and we can only do so if every delegate and accompanying person is part of our group booking. Unfortunately any person booking directly with the cruise company or other travel agent will not be able to register or attend the conference. We currently have special rates for this cruise conference offering delegates up to 40% off the cruise component. In order to take advantage of these special rates delegates must register for the conference, and book and deposit your cruise component by the 28th February 2025. Please contact our travel team at [email protected] for full information.

Academic Agenda

At CPE Conferences, our mission is twofold – to deliver high quality academic content from Australian and International specialists in medicine, law and dentistry and to provide access to experts local to the conference destination. Our longstanding tradition has been to push the delegates’ educational boundaries by exploring the conference destination not only through travel, but also through its medical and legal environment and political context.  We do this by arranging local expert speakers and academic field trips and believe this gives learning a new dimension.

The bulk of the academic content consists of leading Australian practitioners presenting on their area of expertise. To provide diversity in our academic agendas, and particularly to enable us to provide unique local experiences, we do not publish the academic agenda in advance. Often local presenters are unable to commit to a specific session time months in advance. We believe (and indeed our feedback reflects) that the local presenters and field trips add immeasurable value to the academic experience and as such we want to preserve our ability to include the local experts. The academic agenda is released on the day of Welcome Drinks, the day before the first academic sessions.

Apply To Speak

We encourage all our delegates to engage with the academic program by applying to present a topic at our conferences for a number reasons. Showcase your recent publication, interesting case, area of expertise or update on an important topic; approved applications receive a discounted registration rate; for some colleges or societies you may attract more CPD points. Our presenters often gain more from the networking aspects of the conference and have frequently been contacted after their presentation for professional development opportunities such as appearing as an expert witness, being briefed on a matter or other general referrals. We have two options when participating in our academic program, a full speaker registration or an Experts’ Forum presentation. Our speaker registration attracts a discounted fee, and requires a minimum of 1 hour presentation. An Experts’ Forum presentation is shorter in duration and does not attract a discount. It is for those wishing to present for a minimum of 20 minutes.
