Join us for an intimate walking tour through Florence’s rich humanitarian and medicinal history, led by an expert local guide. The tour includes a visit to the Misericordia Museum, one of Europe’s oldest charitable institutions, and the historic Santa Maria Novella Pharmacy. A special highlight is a private session at the Archivio storico degli Innocenti, the archive of the world’s oldest orphanage. Dr Lucia Ricciardi, the Director, will present a curated selection of original documents, including the story of Agata Smeralda—the first recorded child admitted in 1445—offering a rare and moving glimpse into Florence’s social past.
